Your point at the end is exactly right. It's always interesting to hear people critique Disney. Disney is only in it for the dollar. I agree with the commenter above - that lauding this company to champion causes is in itself a red flag. It is precisely the blatant representation in their films that caused this conservative backlash. They profited, and the people loved it because subtlety doesn't pay. Disney is good at giving the people what they want without the people getting wise to it. Well, this is the result of not being wise.
I stopped watching Disney years ago when I realized it glorifies warfare over narrative. But the people eat that up, silent on that red flag because it, too, feeds their overfed ideology. There will come a time where this becomes relevant for America. What little consolation we get in saying, "I saw it coming."
