When I made the decision to move to New Zealand, climate change was high on the list of reasons. Increased rainfall meant unlimited fresh water, hydro power, and high agricultural output per capita. But weather isn't the only factor. Security was a big one. You don't want to be in a stadium in Katrina conditions. You want a government and neighbours who support you. That means no guns, free health care, and trust. That struck the US off the map altogether.
