This is really interesting and something I hadn't thought of or heard much about. I can completely relate.
As a Project Manager, I'm often in derailment situations. A one-off emergency arises (broken sprinkler main) that requires all hands on deck. This depletes resources (labour, budget,time) from the main project.
These events are so normal for this job that we rarely think about them on the whole. But if we knew in advance that more were coming, it would definitely change the way we plan a project.
With climate change, we know.
