This is a holdover from before globalization. It used to be, if a guy couldn't get a date out of the 150 million women in America, forced to date abroad, he must be a loser. That he usually came home with a "hottie" made it even worse.

It's also the dark underbelly of American racism, sexism, and ageism, especially among a subset of feminism. Non-passport holding Americans still think the rest of the world is populated by poor, uneducated, simps who yearn to reach American shores. The most insulting of these is the stereotype you see in comments here, that Asian women are "submissive", a byproduct of the feminist quest for power. After years in Asia and my own Asian wife, I've yet to meet this "submissive" woman. It's strange to see feminists try to tear other women down. Most of the foreign women I've met are intelligent, supportive, and kind, the ideal partnership material.

Now the tables are turned. If a man wants to find a powerful woman who is confident yet kind, who wants to have a family and values older men, he's almost forced to look outside the cultural minefield that is America today. They'll be happier men for it.
