This is a fascinating take. I was ready to disagree with you at the beginning, but you're spot on.
The part that bothers me is that there is no plan for improvement. This is a shattering, like a natural disaster. If the result is a new, modern structure that functions better, the destroyers get credit for what went well (not what went wrong).
I've worked for imbeciles and incompetents like Trump. Employees worked harder just to keep the pieces functioning. The result: a lot of broken people while the man at the top got richer.
Yours is a sad truth, but still true.
