The two primary sources of aluminium emissions are the electricity in and the carbon anodes used. Supplementing hyro (or solar) resolves the first, and inert anodes (producing oxygen) resolves the second. Big groups like EN+ and Rio Tinto are already implementing this new anode technology. So the key is to encourage more of both solutions.
