The rich are still barns, especially in the built environment. Bank funding of apartment buildings, offices, malls, skyscrapers all rely on very wealthy individuals. The Protestant work ethic said wealthy people are a great investment as they know how to handle, and increase, capital. We forget that we rely on people who once built castles for themselves to now build castles for us.
