The carbon footprint of food is not a meat vs vegan debate. Rice produces almost as many greenhouse gasses as meat production, but it's rarely discussed. Nearly all tomatoes and many other common vegetables are grown in plastic greenhouses heated by natural gas. We need to focus on replacing food, such as through cellular and fermentation technologies. This is the only way we'll get there.
