People may say this is a sweeping statement, but it's not sweeping enough. Men, too, are by and large dull. I interact with a lot of people daily and I find one, maybe two, people each year worth speaking to again. There seems to be a passive tendency to absorb culture - scrolling Youtube and Instagram - rather than engage in life. Serious topics are now so polarized people (rightly) avoid discussing their beliefs in mixed company. The result is a whole citizenry who do not live so much as consume, who experience life through a screen, and who form beliefs in an echo chamber. Woe to anyone searching for meaningful conversation.
