I thought I was watching something out of Idiocracy. She's a charming person and an amazing artist, but the occasion called for more decorum and respect in the moment and to the fragility of the instrument itself. It felt like watching them hand the flute to a four year old.
As for the racial aspect, it shows how racist America is when an artist playing an instrument must be imbued with so much subtext.
I'm not sure which of the two was more disgusting.
