I often see this topic discussed, but it is never given the gravity it deserves. This is not a societal fluke, and we need to train children to deal with the reality of nature, which is this:
The default answer for women is "no" just as the default action is for a man to ask. And what does this interaction really mean?
He: Will you bear my genetics into the next generation?
She: No, you are not worthy. Your genetics should rightly die off for eternity.
This is why feelings are so strong on such a simple interaction, why women must come up with dozens of alternative approaches to "no", and why men must perpetually devise attempts to elicit a yes. That "no" is not just a rejection of him, but of all the generations of his genetic line to the end of time.
That "no" is a quiet form of genocide, one women must deliver frequently and men must hear frequently because that's how nature works. Understanding this, and training young people to manage their expectations appropriately, is the only mature answer.
