I agree that new hires are there to listen and learn, not preach. It's absurd to hear them making declarative speeches from the outset. But....
What kind of organization makes people work late or makes work calls to employees in the evening? If you have that much work, you need to hire more employees. Period. That sounds like a management problem, as in, your senior team doesn't know how to manage your work load.
Sad to say those clueless new hires were right. Good luck in hiring in the future. I'm 50 and wouldn't work there either.
