Great article. I love how both sides feel mirrored by the other without realizing the analogy means they are one and the same. Both sides believe in an evil Other somehow controling the world. It doesn't matter if it's a cabal or a structural system. Both ideas prefer an organizational, rather than cumulative chaotic, presence. Both want to define that organizing principal as evil. Both are, to use your phrase, nuts.

It wasn't until I left the US that I started to realize how extreme and, well, delusional both versions are. I recommend you take a sabbatical outside the US, bring yourself up a few thousand feet, and take another look at your beliefs.
