Good article, but all you've really pointed out is that the conservative argument is not rational. They know that. They base their argument on "God said so." That can't be argued without arguing against faith, which is why arguments are destined to lose.
The real problem is not abortion but, as you pointed out, conservative's pro-life stance stopping at birth. So, unable to win, or even have, the abortion debate, it's better to focus on access to health care, support for mothers, and gun laws so that the children we're forced to bring into the world have a fighting chance when they get here.
