But you did vote for them. Every time you buy something on Amazon, every time you open Facebook, every car sold is a vote of confidence. We had cars and bookstores and social organizations before them, but we collectively chose a new path.
That said, they're also private citizens with their own quirks and opinions. It would be wrong to hold that against the benefits of the services they provide.
