At any point did you reach out to the Seafair organizers to get their feedback or support? Or the Blue Angels themselves? Did you consider getting a booth at the event to hand out your own flyers?

The reason I ask is that this may be an opportunity to create change rather than protest. For example, you mentioned the fuel burned. The Blue Angels have been using biofuels since 2011, up to 50% mix now, and Boeing is introducing a 100% mix on some airplanes. Speak to the Blue Angels to see if they can go 100% green, and ask if they can emphasize this in their marketing.

The US military is one of the world’s leading climate emitters, but it is also one of the world’s leading funding sources for climate change solving technology. It was also the largest user of solar panels until recently. Historically the US military leads the private sector in terms of sustainable solutions, and they’re just as worried about climate change as you are. This is a chance to partner with them toward real public awareness.

You mentioned a big recruitment drive during the event. The military is always looking for STEM students, not just jarheads. You could suggest the sustainability angle will help them draw more educated individuals, people who might later help with DARPA solutions.

Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
