All good suggestions in this piece; however, it's unfortunate to see the continued belief that climate inaction is a result of people not caring enough. They do care, I've found. What they lack are clear initiatives to move forward. We also lack fundamental discussions on the challenges (eg our near total dependence on fossil fuels for our basic survival). So even if we get kids out into nature, their empathy remains an impotent force against climate change.
The faith in indigenous stewardship is also misguided. Indigenous peoples have historically exploited their environments as rapaciously as we have. Their low population density and high mortality give an illusion of stewardship that we 8 billion cannot emulate.
